The historic Abruzzo pasta maker and the Corrieri Solidali are joining forces to support the most vulnerable communities.
Chieti, October 18, 2024 – TakeMeBack – Solidarity Couriers is proud to announce a new and important partnership with Rustichella d’Abruzzo, one of Italy’s most renowned and historic pasta manufacturers. This collaboration marks the beginning of a joint commitment to actively support the charitable missions carried out by TakeMeBack, thanks to a recurring donation from the Abruzzo-based company.
TakeMeBack, founded by Antonio Di Leonardo and Andrea Mariani, is a project that began in 2016 and combines a love of travel with a deep sense of social responsibility. Through a global network of volunteers, known as“Solidarity Couriers,”the organization transports essential supplies and educational materials to communities in need, with a particular focus on remote villages in Africa and Asia. Each courier not only delivers aid but also builds relationships based on trust and dialogue with the people they meet, creating bonds that extend beyond the single journey.
Rustichella d’Abruzzo, founded in 1924, is a leading Italian brand in the food and agriculture sector, renowned for the artisanal quality of its pasta, which is still made according to an old family recipe—a tradition now in its fourth generation. The company has always been committed to charitable initiatives and corporate social responsibility, maintaining close ties with the Abruzzo region and local communities.
The connection between Rustichella d’Abruzzo and TakeMeBack began in 2019, during the screening of a TakeMeBack documentary film in Abruzzo. From that encounter, a relationship of mutual respect and collaboration developed, which today culminates in this structured partnership, aimed at providing concrete support for the humanitarian organization’s missions.
Stefania Peduzzi, owner of Rustichella d’Abruzzo, commented on the launch of this new partnership: “We first learned about this project in 2019 when we were invited to attend a screening of their documentary film here in Abruzzo. The idea that a single photograph could unknowingly give rise to an entire film is the perfect example of how small actions can lead to great projects. So we too have set sail on this ship and unfurled our sails toward the noble goal of supporting TakeMeBack and their mission. Rustichella d’Abruzzo has always been sensitive to these initiatives; we couldn’t turn our backs on this, and here we are today as partners of the Corrieri Solidali.”
Antonio Di Leonardo, co-founder of TakeMeBack, emphasized the importance of this collaboration for the growth of the organization’s activities: “We are extremely grateful and honored to have Rustichella d’Abruzzo as a partner on our journey of solidarity. Knowing that an Italian company of such excellence has chosen to support us strengthens our daily commitment. This valuable partnership will allow us to expand our network of solidarity couriers and reach even more communities in need around the world, continuing to make a difference.”
Andrea Mariani, co-founder of TakeMeBack, added: “We are extremely proud to be collaborating with a company like Rustichella d’Abruzzo. This partnership is not just about financial support; it is about sharing deeply held values: solidarity, respect for communities, and a desire to make a difference. Together with Rustichella, we won’t just deliver aid; we’ll build lasting bonds between cultures and people, proving that even small actions can have an extraordinary impact.”
The partnership between TakeMeBack and Rustichella d’Abruzzo is a concrete example of how two different organizations, united by shared values of solidarity and respect for others, can make a significant impact. Through this agreement, both organizations are committed to improving the lives of those facing extreme hardship, bringing hope and aid where it is most needed.
