Schools become centers of hope, places where children feel safe and can grow not only as students, but as individuals.
Today, around 265 million children and young people worldwide do not have the opportunity to start or complete their education. 617 million children and adolescents cannot read or do basic math. Less than 40% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa complete lower secondary school, and around 4 million refugee children and young people do not attend school. Behind these numbers lie faces, stories, and shattered hopes.
This crisis affects us all and requires a collective effort to make the right to education a reality for every child, wherever they may be.
On January 24, the world celebrates International Day of Education, a crucial moment to reflect on the transformative role of education. Since its establishment in 2018 by the United Nations, this day emphasizes the importance of education as a fundamental human right and a lever for sustainable progress.
Education as a pillar of change
According toUNESCO, each additional year of education can increase a child's future income by 10% and significantly reduce the likelihood of living in poverty. But in many rural areas, where schools are far away and resources are scarce, attending classes can be a daily challenge.
Education is not just about learning. The schools we support become centers of hope, places where children feel safe and can grow not only as students, but as individuals. Education is a catalyst for addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. We believe that every child has the right to dream and to have the tools to realize those dreams.
But the commitment goes beyond the delivery of material goods: it concerns building relationships, cultural exchange, and the ability to inspire new generations to believe in their own potential.

The results of our commitment
Thanks to the support of our supporters, we have made a tangible contribution to improving educational conditions in many communities. For example, in 2024 we delivered school supplies to hundreds of children in Sri Lanka and Kenya. Thanks to Xera, our partner, we provided laptops to isolated schools, giving students access to digital resources and connecting them with the rest of the world. Special thanks go to Donato Colleluori, whose constant support has made many of our initiatives possible.
In Sri Lanka, the commitment to education takes on a special meaning. School is often the only place where children can find stability, learn, and dream of a different future. Here, in 2024, our Solidarity Couriers contributed not only with school supplies, but also with the energy and smiles that only human interaction can bring. From January 19 to February 2, 2025, Solidarity Couriers Anthea, Dilaksion, Cinthia, Kerri Ann, and Sara will discover Sri Lanka through concrete acts of solidarity. During the trip, school supplies, food, clothing, and other essential goods will be delivered to two schools and an orphanage. Our first goal is to raise €1,350, which will allow us to purchase the necessary supplies for 65 students at the MO/Kandahena No:2 Tamil Vidyalayam school. The supplies include notebooks, pencils, crayons, water bottles, food, rulers, pens, calculators, and much more. By raising extra funds, we will be able to purchase additional items such as toys, food, and support materials for the children atthe Sujatha Child Home orphanage, bringing smiles and practical help to many other children.
In Tanzania, during the filming of the documentary Safara The Movie, we saw how knowledge can transform villages and communities. Local schoolchildren taught us that hope is tangible when you invest in education and access to opportunities.
In Thailand, through our collaboration with Mattia, we have provided essential learning tools to the Sri Nehru School in Chiang Mai: from basic materials to the technology needed to connect students to the world. Here, education is not only a right, but a window to the future.

Your Role in Change
As an organization, we know we cannot do everything on our own. We need the support of people like you who believe that education is the foundation for building a more equitable and sustainable world. Share our message or make a donation to ensure that education reaches those who need it most. Together, we can make sure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future.
Every small gesture can have a real impact: a notebook can become a means of imagining tomorrow, a pen can write new stories of hope.
