“One shoe at a time, one step at a time”: the mission in Kenya that is changing the lives of the children at Munje Primary School
Chieti, September 5, 2024 – TakeMeBack is proud to announce the success of its“One Shoe at a Time, One Step at a Time”mission in Kenya, a project that has brought about a significant change in the lives of 638 children at Munje Primary School.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and the organization’s efficiency, every contribution was used directly to purchase shoes, without any intermediaries or bureaucratic red tape.
The mission was led by Federica Troiano, Take Me Back’s Solidarity Ambassador, and focused on providing shoes to the children at Munje Primary School. During her visit, Federica was able to witness firsthand the devastating impact of the sand flea on the children’s daily lives. The lack of proper shoes not only undermines their health but also jeopardizes their education, as many are forced to stay home—sometimes for months—due to infections or pain. The situation is further exacerbated by the fact that many children must walk several kilometers every day to reach school, thereby exposing themselves to this dangerous problem.
Federica coordinated every aspect of the initiative, ensuring that every pair of shoes reached the children who needed them most.
This mission has given children not only the chance to walk and play without pain, but also the freedom to learn and grow in a safer and more dignified environment. Every pair of donated shoes represented a step toward a better future, helping to tangibly improve the quality of their daily lives.
The success of this initiative demonstrates the power of a direct and transparent approach. With no additional costs or intermediaries, Take Me Back was able to ensure that every single donation went directly to the children, reaffirming its commitment to real, tangible change.
