From fundraising to distributing 638 pairs of shoes: here is the concrete impact of Corrieri Solidali in Kenya.
One shoe at a time, one step at a time.
This is the mantra of the mission of Take Me Back in Kenya, which has tangibly improved the lives of 638 children at Munje Primary School. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the commitment of Corrieri Solidali, this initiative has provided essential footwear to protect children from infections caused by the biting flea. This insect is known to attack children's feet, penetrating the skin and causing serious infections that limit their ability to walk, run, and even attend school.

The Mission
The mission was led by Federica Troiano, Take Me Back Solidarity Courier, and focused on providing footwear to children at Munje Primary School. During her visit, Federica witnessed firsthandthe devastating impact of the sand flea on the children's daily lives. The lack of adequate footwear not only puts their health at risk, but also compromises their education, as many are forced to stay home (sometimes for months) due to infections or pain. The situation is made even more serious by the fact that many children have to walk several kilometers every day to get to school, further exposing themselves to this dangerous condition.
Federica took the initiative to purchase and distribute shoes to children, allowing them to attend school without fear of infection. Every donation received was used to purchase 638 pairs of shoes, and Federica documented every stage of the mission, demonstrating the direct impact of the contributions made by those who supported this cause.
Furthermore, the mission was carried out without intermediaries or bureaucratic complications, ensuring that every single donation (€3,405 out of €2,500 raised) was used exclusively for the purchase of shoes. This direct approach maximized the impact of the donations, ensuring that every contribution went directly to benefit the children of Munje Primary School, without any losses along the way.
One Step at a Time, One Shoe at a Time
The mission "One shoe at a time, one step at a time" has given the children of Munje Primary School not only the ability to walk without pain, but also the freedom to play, learn, and dream of a better future. Every shoe donated is a step towards a more dignified and secure life, proving that even the simplest gesture can bring about extraordinary change. What's more, every shoe is a symbol of hope. Concrete proof that, step by step, these children's future can truly become brighter.
One step at a time,
One shoe at a time.
